Happy New Year

Hania Port

New Year’s Eve 2010 was a beautiful day to spend down at the port in the old city.  We went with friends to a good waterside restaurant and parked ourselves at a table in the sunshine.  The place was hopping with excitement.  The kids were especially jazzed up because this was the Greek Christmas Eve and presents were to be exchanged that night.  Even the “big kids” like Katerina were in the party spirit!

Walking around the old city always brings a variety of sights and sounds.  The lighting was perfect to take a trial run with my new gift from Santa – a D3100 Nikon digital camera…SWEEEEEEET!  Check out the photos in the gallery below.

New Years Eve was spent with friends at the Artemis.  We rang in the New Year with plenty of noisy fun.

Reg at the trigger

It’s hard to imagine that we’ve celebrated our second New Year here.  Next year we’ll hopefully be celebrating back in Colorado but until then, we try to live each day to the max and squeeze all the joy we can out of all the good that comes our way.  And the bad…well…we are learning the art of “Endakhsee”  (It’s OK, all good, whatever…)

Some tasteful, some tacky.  Mix it all together and what have you got?  ART!

Quote: "The best journeys ask questions that in the beginning you never thought to ask." (Anon) Here's my journey: Enjoying my short life on this earth one moment at a time by being intentional with God, family, traveling, cooking, gardening, Colorado living and all the perks that come with it, playing guitar, listening more and talking less. I've discovered that both cooking and travel can be messy at times but the risks can have some amazing results. The same goes for life lived with passion.
